Altama

The Company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, designs, manufactures, markets, sells and distributes primarily combat boots, but also police duty or tactical boots, steel toe boots, and a basic six-inch work boot under the Altama brand. These categories cover 19 models, of which 7 are made 100% in the USA and 12 styles are imported. Altama has five locations: a cut and stitch plant in Salinas, Puerto Rico, a finishing plant in Lexington, Tennessee, a distribution warehouse in Lexington plus one in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and its sales and headquarters in The Lenox Building in Atlanta.

Knights Products, Inc.

The Montana Group represented Knights Products, Inc., a Florida-based mulch and soil products producer, in the sale of the company to Jolly Gardener Products, Inc., a portfolio company of Legg Mason Merchant Banking (now Calvert Street Capital Partners). Knights, one of the premier lawn-and-garden product companies in the Southeast, provides mulch and soil products in both bag and bulk form to retail and commercial customers. Knights' strong customer base, innovative marketing, and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities provided an ideal regional expansion opportunity for Jolly Gardener.

Holmes & Shaw, Inc.

Holmes & Shaw, Inc. ("HSI" or the "Company"), a service bureau, is a full-service provider of computer output solutions. This includes laser printing and mailing of business critical documents (non-promotional documents which are essential to the overall operation of the issuer) in mass for its customers. Since the Company began offering state of the art computer services to San Antonio and South Texas in 1968 its focus has evolved and today HSI is exclusively involved in large-scale laser printing with efficient, cost-effective mailing support services such as automated mailing and custom tracking systems. The need to lower the overall operating costs of a business is the driving force behind the outsourcing of print and mail applications. Increasingly, companies are focusing on their core business and outsourcing other non-core-related services such as laser printing and bulk mailing. HSI provides the support services that otherwise would be done in-house but are often more cost effective to subcontract.

HPA Monon Corporation

The Montana Group was retained by HPA Monon Corporation, headquartered in Monon, Indiana, to locate qualified purchasers for its manufacturing operations. Monon manufactured Dry Freight Vans and Container Chassis for the transportation industry and, at the time of the assignment, had ceased operations. The Montana Group identified several potential purchasers and worked with Monon's management and lenders to finalize a sale. A China-based industry consolidator finalized the purchase of the company in the spring of 2003.

Transcraft

Manufacturer of specialty and custom-engineered flatbed trailers. Initial sales were to established trailer manufacturers who requested the installation of their nameplates and serial plates on Transcraft-designed trailers. Throughout their 35 year history, the company has enjoyed an excellent reputation as building a "top of the line" product.

Contour Industries, Inc.

Producer of specialized glass products for diverse industries. In particular, they buy sheets of glass and alter it by tempering, silk screening, cutting, and putting holes and groves in the glass. The altered glass is used in stoves, refrigerators, clothes dryers, barbecue grills, residential windows and doors, stereo cabinets, light fixtures, fireplace screens, motor homes, and electronic scanners.

Thomas Pipe and Steel

Distributor of industrial pipe and structural steel since 1984. The Company is known for providing a comprehensive inventory and a dependable service. The Company sells to many diverse industries. Their pipe is used in outdoor signage, offshore fabrication, highway construction, industrial plant construction, theme parks, water treatment, fast food, and marine docks.

Thermal Industries, Inc.

leading nationwide manufacturer of vinyl-framed windows for the replacement and remodeling segment. The company's windows are primarily sold to remodeling or home improvement contractors and window replacement specialists for use in residential remodeling. Thermal also manufacturers and distributes other vinyl-based products including patio enclosures, patio doors, outside decks and marine docks.

Dumas Manufacturing

Their products include church pews, choir chairs, pulpits, and communion tables. The products are solid wood (Pine, Oak, Sycamore and Walnut). Dumas sells mostly to 7 southeastern states.

Southern Roasted Nuts

Manufacturer of oil and dry roasted peanuts and other tree nut items (e.g. cashews, macadamia, Brazil and Spanish peanuts). Products offered include numerous types of nuts prepared in various ways and packaged in metal cans, glass jars, individual bags, or in bulk.

Abacus, Inc.

Wholesale distributor of commercial building materials (Armstrong, Certainteed, The Swan Corporation) for a trade area that includes Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. The Company is one of two authorized distributors of Armstrong ceiling products for its trade area. Abacus continues to be ranked in the top 8 of all Armstrong ceiling customers and is the largest single location customer in the USA.

CAN-DO National Tape, Inc.

Distributor of adhesive tapes and other non-adhesive tape related products (e.g. teflon pipe thread tape). The Company sells adhesive tapes of all kinds used for a great multitude of purposes including packaging, carton sealing, insulation, bonding, masking, color-coding, weatherproofing, sealing, bandaleering, and many other uses.

Classic Rope Manufacturing

Supplier to the equine business. This includes the manufacturing of lariats for the cattle roping sport and the distribution under its widely accepted brand name (Classic Rope) of equine accessories such as leg supports, wraps, and boots for horses as well as ankle, elbow, knee, back and wrist supports for the riders. CRI also sells accessories with its logo on such items as golf and baseball caps and rope bags.

Austin Hardwoods, Ltd.

A leading distributor of domestic and imported hardwood lumber and plywood. The Company has facilities in Austin, Dallas, El Paso, and San Antonio, Texas.

Design Space Inc.

A leading manufacturer of modular buildings. The vast majority of DSI’s buildings are used for commercial use (e.g. mobile construction field offices, modular office buildings, classrooms, heath care / medical buildings, daycare centers, dormitories, toilet / shower units, residential, institutional / detention / jails, and bank buildings).
